Pieces of Me,
finally went to print in This Little City a local Vancouver fashion news print. you can check out the online version on tlc-vancouver.com. p.s. i switched a couple pages around.

and here's the story board i put together for my team to make sure we're all on the same page.

look at me! or at least my work :)

i've been invited to take part in yet another fashion event/ photo exhibition. this time Fashion Cures a la Mode taking place in Ottawa from Nov 4th-7th. having my work out on display for others to appreciate is such a rewarding feeling. exhibits really challenge me to bring my A game up, not that i'm not already trying :P
this time around i swayed away from my coloured images and went black and white on ya AND i did a bit of photoshop rendering... très risque!
the other challenge here was transporting 5 prints ready to hang at the most affordable budget known to man. my prints were 11x14 so i headed over to DeSerres and bought me some archival foam, archival tact to adhere my prints to the foam and finally hanging clips that punch through the back of the foam board. darnet! i should have taken photos of the whole process but i was a little stressed out with dead lines and such that is the life of Maya :)
any ways the process was faster than i thought and in the end cost me $25 to get my prints to hang and another $37 to ship. not bad, not bad. any who i did manage to take this last minute shot of the final results on my hallway wall. i'll reveal the collection name, close ups, my process and all that jazz later. enjoy!

my main man Ghassan and I a scheduled a last minute shoot (less than 24hrs) with my beastie muse Roza and ended with fabulous results. good thing that other chic flaked out. isn't she so beyond Beyonc? there are a ton of other looks but here's a sneak peak:

addicted

it is official. my creative partner in crime Gus and myself are addicted to shooting! this weekend we did a another shoot but this time fashion and styled by yours truly. i pulled most of the clothes from vintage shops along Main St. and had the pleasure of borrowing shoes from fluevog which were perfect for the 40's theme we had going. if i'm not shooting, i'm coming up with ideas for a shoot, editing photos or learning more photo shop, which i cringe at mere thought of. actually i'm just taking a break from learning about channels, oh such fun : S
i'm a film geek and now with this studio lighting and great makeup, i gotta brush up on my PS skills. next on the list of to do's is update my site. with all this shooting i've been doing i can have a new site with a new batch of eye candy. hopefully my talented brother can hook me up otherwise yet another program i must learn, FLASH. being

creative can be a tough job. any whosers...
this weekend is headshots for the actors but the following weekend is more fashion. oh we are so taking over Vancouver.

WICKED!

my shoot this sunday was beyond wicked! i found THE most amazing makeup artist ever and one hot stylist. we pumped out the best shoot ever and i am so looking forward to shooting again. i'll post the pics here as soon as i finish submitting them to the mags. but for now here's Ghassan at work. i should have more time this week to blog more, but it's bed time now.
