the next gig was for a bunch of children's audio books! and not to mention a few New York Times Best Sellers all up in the mix :) my absolute fav book was Jazz Age Josephine! i can't wait to get my copy. my only "meh" moment is how little fun i got to have reading the books. for the younger aged books i had to read in s-l-o-w motion! something i am definitely not used to. and i felt like such a robot...put the inflection here, read it again, anunciate the "t", yadayadayada! by the end of it i had no idea how anything i was saying could possibly make any sense. but then again i'm a perfectionist and it was definitely an interesting learning curve. now for the photos...
and that pretty much sums up my busy month of november. i feel like i'm back in my creative groove and am definitely looking forward to january when i'll have more time to create fabulous works of art

Hi there! Any advice for someone looking to get into the VoiceOver industry?! I am a nurse with a childlike voice who is always bein told I should look into doing cartoon voices. But I am completely in the dark when it comes to knowing where to even begin. Thank you greatly for any help! :) and keep up the good work!

Research, research, research! Read as much as you can online and when you meet people ask questions, I guarantee you'll be pointed in the right direction :) And here's a good place too!
I was in a similar boat to you. I had the idea but didn't know where to start. I found out about a voiceover coach and she gave me 1on1 coaching for a couple of recorded sessions. What I did was write scripts and record them with her. Because I was already an actor and knew the kind of work I wanted to book I made sure to write scripts that had lots of energy and a quick and entertaining story arc. I recorded about 10 mini stories. From there I narrowed it down to 5 unique stories that showcased different aspects of my voice and in garageband I brought the stories to life so they sounded like clips from a cartoon show. From there I made a voice demo and mailed it out to voiceover agenies and voila!
